Structure of Chamber

The Chamber is an independent organisation made up of an extensive sector of the local business community. The members of the Chamber elect 14 individuals on an annual basis to form the executive committee.

Aims & Objectives

The Newry Chamber of Commerce & Trade represents, informs and assists local businesses, carrying out the Chambers' responsibilities in an active, effective and influential way.

Specifically the Chamber aims to:

• Act as a representative body for business and commerce in the greater Newry area
• Lobby elected bodies and respective agencies on issues pertinent to members' interests and Chamber principles at local, regional and national level
• Work with other business and civic organisations to maximise the economic development of the greater Newry area
• Campaign for direct action on issues that affect members business and the economic development of the Newry area
• Provide a focal point for commerce, industry and retail in the Newry area
• Hold regular networking meetings to enable all members to discuss topics of interest and develop potential business relationships
• Encourage mutual business support between members
• Support local charities through specific fundraising events.
