Agency
Overview
The
Newry & Mourne Enterprise Agency is one of the two divisions
of Newry & Mourne Co-Operative Ltd.
The Co-Operative was founded in late
1972 as an attempt by local people to take positive action to alleviate
the chronic unemployment which the Newry area had suffered for generations.
The Enterprise Agency, established
in 1983, was the first in Northern Ireland and has the main objective
of promoting jobs and creating wealth in the Newry & Mourne
area.
The Agency's Mission statement is "to
contribute to the growth and prosperity of the Newry & Mourne
region by undertaking Enterprise, Business and Economic Development
initiatives independently and in partnership with others".
Our main objectives are: 1) to increase the stock of new businesses
and increase the competitiveness of existing businesses in the Newry
& Mourne area; and 2) to assist in the strategic development
