Cross Border Partnerships and Activities

The Agency is pro-active in promoting and participating in Cross Border Partnerships and activities

Newry & Mourne/Louth Product Transfer Programme

This is one of the Agency’s most significant cross border programmes. Its aim is to introduce new products and/or manufacturing processes into the East Border region under licence from North America.

Under the auspices of this programme Newry & Mourne Enterprise Agency, in partnership with Louth County Enterprise Board, plan and organise yearly trade missions, both inwards and outwards with our partners in North America.

These trade missions have resulted in agreements being signed between companies located in Northern Ireland, the Republic of Ireland and North America.

Enterprise Northern Ireland/County Enterprise Board Cross-Border Working Group

Newry & Mourne Enterprise Agency is a member of the ENI/CEB Cross-Border Working Group. The Working Group has developed a 12 countywide programme of micro-enterprise support measures.

The Local Strategy Partnership


During 2001/2002 the Agency was appointed, as part of the Consortium formed with Newry & Mourne District Council, to service the Local Strategy Partnership in Newry & Mourne.

Enterprise Northern Ireland (ENI)

The Agency was one of the founders of Enterprise Northern Ireland which represents the interests of Northern Ireland’s 32 Local Enterprise Agencies, contributes to policy making and develops collaborative community-based economic development programmes.

As well as representing Enterprise Agencies and the interests of their client base in discussions with government and others, Enterprise Northern Ireland is co-ordinating the delivery of a portfolio of well resourced high quality programmes through all of its local enterprise agencies across Northern Ireland. Collectively Enterprise Northern Ireland members have 200 staff, are assisted by 350 voluntary directors, have 1.5m square feet of workspace under their management, and have 5,000 active client companies. The network operates from 40 centres across Northern Ireland.
