Performance Management
Over the last few years the Council
has undertaken a review of all its services under its Best Value
Programme in accordance with the Local Government Best Value Act
NI 2002. The Act places a clear statutory duty on all Councils in
Northern Ireland to pursue continuous performance improvement. As
a follow on to this the Council as part of its performance management
framework has developed detailed Departmental plans to deliver on
its Way Forward Document, which is its Corporate Plan. These are
reviewed regularly and progress reported to Council.
The Council has taken the decision
to adopt and apply for the Customer Service Excellence standard
on a corporate basis and is using this standard to underpin its
performance management framework.
The Council is currently preparing
its Corporate Plan for the period 2009-11 which will bring the current
Council up to the Review of Public Administration in May 2011. This
Plan will be posted on the website once it has been adopted by Council.
