Who requires an Amusement Permit?

An Amusement Permit is required for premises used wholly or mainly for the provision of amusements by means of gaming machines. A gaming machine means any machine which is used for playing a game of chance.

Age Restriction:

Premises that have gaming machines with a payout of up to £25 must restrict admission within that area to persons over 18 years.

Premises that have machines with a lower payout to a maximum of £8 have no age restriction on those who can play these machines.

Amusement Licence Fees:

Permit with maximum all-cash prize of £25 = £250
Permit with maximum all-cash prize of £8 = £32
