The Beetlers' Trail
A circular
walking/cycling route in the historic County of Armagh
Turn left at the Community centre up
the Granemore Road out of Keady. Continue straight along the Granemore
Road to the junction where the Granemore Road meets the Annvale
Road and continue straight along the Granemore Road. Watch out for
steep descending hills. Turn left at the junction where the Granemore
Road meets the Dundrum Road. Pass Dundrum House on the right hand
side, site of Information Board Two, pass Tassagh Post Office and
continue straight across the road, and continue along the Dundrum
Road. Pass Tassagh Church on the left-hand side, site of Information
Board Three. Continue along Dundrum Road pass the site of the annual
event of Road Bowls (as can be seen from the white lines on the
road), pass Tassagh Graveyard on the left-hand side and continue
under Tassagh Viaduct. At the end of the road turn right onto main
Armagh Road then take the first immediate left. Be careful on these
minor roads as they may get mucky in the winter. Continue along
this road for approximately one mile and when you reach the STOP
sign continue straight ahead. At the top of the road turn left onto
Crosskeys Road. Continue along Crosskeys Road for approximately
one mile and take the first left past the South Armagh Temple onto
the Crossmore Road, site of Information Board Four. Continue along
the Crossmore Road for approximately 1½ miles until you reach the
end of the road and meet Kinelowen Street. Turn right, back into
Keady, continue along Kinelowen Street, past the Old Mill and turn
left down Bridge Street back to Information Board One at the Community
Centre.
